The V Indigenous Ayahuasca Conference, taking place in January 2025, will advance Indigenous led governance of traditional ayahuasca knowledge. Building on four previous gatherings (2017-2022), this event will unite spiritual leaders from 35+ Indigenous groups across the Americas with international institutions and researchers. The conference represents a crucial shift from academic-dominated discussions to Indigenous leadership in protecting sacred traditions. Previous conferences have demonstrated significant impact, drawing hundreds of participants and establishing precedents for Indigenous autonomy in sacred plant stewardship.
