Walkabout Foundation is a non-profit that aims to restore dignity, freedom, and independence to individuals with mobility disabilities in the developing world. Their three-pronged approach focuses on: (1) Distributing custom-fitted wheelchairs to children and adults, ensuring all beneficiaries receive wheelchairs tailored to their specific needs. To date, they have distributed more than 27,944 wheelchairs in 25 countries around the world; (2) Offering rehabilitation services for children in need, alongside training programmes to parents and caregivers, covering everything from physical exercises to understanding their child’s specific disability. (3) Funding ground-breaking medical research to find a cure for paralysis.
